A complete roof assembly

TPO is a single-ply thermoplastic membrane with heat-welded seams. Mechanically fastened and fully adhered assemblies are available; the specified attachment method depends on the roof design and approved system. Membrane thickness, including 60 or 80 mil where specified, is selected for the individual project.

Send the roof plan, Division 07 specifications, details and addenda for review. The scope may include vapour control layers, PolyISO insulation, multiple insulation layers, tapered insulation and cover board, together with the membrane and associated flashing.

Details that matter to the tender

Roof drains, scuppers, sumps, crickets and drainage transitions.

Curbs, RTU interfaces, pipe boots, penetrations and roof hatches.

Parapet membrane, wall flashing, sheet-metal flashing and metal coping.

Inside and outside corners, heat-welded seams and walkway pads.

Coordination with structural, mechanical and sheet-metal scopes.

New construction and replacement

For new construction, include deck information, roof assembly schedules, planned sequencing and the construction schedule. For replacement work, include available roof reports, existing assembly information, access restrictions and occupied-building requirements. An overlay is considered only where investigation and the project requirements support it.

Specified for the building

No roof assembly is universal. Final selections depend on project specifications, applicable code, manufacturer requirements, roof design, warranty requirements and existing conditions. Any warranty or manufacturer programme requirements must be confirmed for the specific project.
